Maple’s Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) service provides real-time translation from speech to text allowing our clients to provide equal access to the spoken word for all members of the audience including the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, late-deafened, and non-English speaking individuals. Hearing people can benefit from this service as well especially in noisy or distracting environments. CART services are available in English, Spanish, and Italian. With different display options to include computers, projection screens, monitors or mobile devices. The real-time text can be displayed by itself or incorporated onto the same screen as a PowerPoint presentation. We also provide our clients with a transcript for your records.
CART services are available on-site or remotely. With on-site CART, Maple sends captioners to your location and they provide captioning service on the spot. Remote CART allows us to provide CART services anywhere with reliable access to the internet as the quality of the transcription is dependent on the quality of the sound. Remote CART may be more cost effective for our clients as there will be no travel costs associated with these services and Maple is able to accommodate last minute changes easily.
